• MAGA-stan loves Musk...

From Fascist Flea@21:1/5 to All on Mon Sep 11 21:20:18 2023
... but Musk loves Russia and China.

The U.S. does have geopolitical and economic rivals, right? Even enemies,
some would say. But according to Maddow, Musk has a tight grip on
vital technology, so our leaders have to give him great leeway.

Is there a conflict for the U.S.? Can anything be done to induce Musk
to place the West ahead of the East in his empire? Speak, Shmoos.

Maddow's rant was based on a false premise that Musk shut down Starlink
over Crimea to prevent a Ukranian attack.
That was BS. Starlink was never activated over Crimea to prevent Russia from using it
in Crimea. Ukraine didn't know that so their Starlink dependent drones got lost over Crimea.

Take it up with Musk's biographer.

Witless "knows" what they "know". To begin with, the story I referenced came from
[gasp!] Rachel Maddow, one of Dumpster's chief "enemies of the people".

Also, notice that Witless didn't provide a single link to support their claim about
"never activated". Guaranteed it came from one of those LRW echo chamber sites that amplify Russian disinformation as a matter of policy.

Take it up with Musk's biographer.

Before doing that, Witless needs assurances that said writer is not a "partisan stooge".

Which was a whole lot different from the original "Musk deactivated Starlink" to
    sabotoge Ukrainian attack.

Hed: Elon Musk says he withheld Starlink over Crimea to avoid escalation

Except over here in Reality, where the two statements are nearly identical.

Take your pick of the biographer's several versions of what happened. Or
    Musk himself:

    https://thehill.com/policy/defense/4193788-musk-acknowledges-he-turned-off-starlink-internet-access-last-year-during-ukraine-attack-on-russia-military/

"Elon Musk on Thursday acknowledged turning off internet access from his Starlink satellites during a Ukrainian raid last year on a Russian naval
fleet, saying he did so to prevent SpaceX from being “complicit in a
major act of war and conflict escalation.”

Musk responded on his social media platform X to new details from an
upcoming book that indicated he ordered his engineers to shut off communications network before the attack off the Crimean coast."
