    agencies received and dismissed either due to lack of coordination, bureaucratic delays or trepidation on the part of those who were
    collecting it. The FBI, for example, was unexpectedly hindered in its
    attempt to find social media posts planning for Jan. 6 protests when the contract for its third-party social media monitoring tool expired. At
    Homeland Security, analysts were hesitant to report open-source
    intelligence after criticism in 2020 for collecting intelligence on
    American citizens during racial justice demonstrations.

    ...But even as it received the warnings, the Senate panel found, the
    agency said over and over again that there were no credible threats.

    That D'Antuono guy from the Washington Field Office of the FBI has been
    in the news a lot these last few weeks: dragging down the Mar-A-Lago
    search and downplaying pre-Jan6 intelligence. This exchange stands out:

    FBI and CP had in the crowd and what they were doing?
    I want to see explicit and complete deployment and command instructions.

    In fact bring all the agents and cops in and have them testify what were they doing,
    what were their orders and who ordered them to do it.

    It's a good read, about how the FBI didn't follow its own rules in
    gathering and distributing intelligence and passed the buck on
    responsibility afterwards.

    This report is about the intelligence failures. Do you want to know
    where the Proud Boy informants were? Or are you just pursuing some
    FBI-led false flag conspiracy theory? How'd they get Trump to cooperate?
