A new "definition" of insanity

Many cliche-loving dweebs are fond of citing Einstein's pithy observation
about thickheadedness as a "definition" of insanity. These individuals,
who are in fact the thickheaded dolts at whom Albert directed his comment,
are unable, to a man, to perceive the sardonic tone and why it applies to them.
So here's a new proposition about empirically observed insanity. It concerns the endemic spread of tribalism at the expense of accepting reality. We see
it among MAGA-turds and Q-lovers and other dubious humans who prefer to
act like a flock of idiot sheep. The common behavior is the choice to ignore and deny obvious and salient dangers, and instead focus their emotions on invented and imaginary "dangers".
Real perils that they cannot face include the epidemic of mass shootings, institutionalized racism and homophobia, and the biggest one of all - climate change. The fantasies they focus on are pretty much what they hear from
inside their echo chamber - the nonsense about some fantastical evil plot
by drag queens, the lurid fairy tale about fake transgender women sneaking
into bathrooms to assault women, the preposterous underground network of
evil mad doctors performing involuntary sex-change surgery on children.
