I still don't understand how she hasn't been canned in the last 3-5
years, but better late than never I suppose.

ah, so Ms. Kennedy gets to join the Jeannine Karabas club
    of women getting the blame...

Kathleen Kennedy *is* to blame for all the Politically Correct nonsense
she forced into the franchises. :-(

Is Kathleen Kennedy actually stepping down from Lucasfilm in 2025?
       ------------------------------------------------------------------
No, Kathleen Kennedy looks like she will not be stepping down as
president of Lucasfilm in 2025, despite some fans believing that
she is responsible for the current state of Star Wars.

According to a source close to the matter speaking with CNN, any
rumors about her retirement are overblown, saying that "there's
nothing there right now." The source says any announcement about
her potentially leaving would be public when "actual decisions are
       made."

An earlier report from Variety also stated that a source dismissed
the initial report, believing that it was "pure speculation" and
emphasized that no decision had been made.

There's no way THR would report this if there wasn't something to this.
My guess is that this "response" is P.R. CYA, but that she will in fact
retire by the end of the year.

An earlier report from Variety also stated that a source dismissed
the initial report, believing that it was "pure speculation" and
emphasized that no decision had been made.

Some Star Wars fans have wanted Kathleen Kennedy to step away from
Lucasfilm for years. In 2021 Kennedy signed a three-year extension
to her contract. During that time, the phrase "Kathleen Kennedy
Fired" trended due to the underperformance of Indiana Jones 5.
Then near the end of 2024, a rumor began swirling that Kennedy
would remain as president until Q2 2025.

Still, there has been no official statement from Lucasfilm
regarding the rumor of Kennedy's supposed departure. The source
from the original report said that she was planning to leave in
2024, going so far as to have an exit interview with a journalist.

In December 2024, Kennedy received the Board of Governors Award by
the American Society of Cinematographers for her impact on cinema.

An award?!? Well, I guess ruining multiple franchises could indeed be
termed as an "impact on cinema". :-\

You know, sometimes women *are* to blame. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as an incompetent woman.

The news just gets worse. Even *if* she is quitting the Lucasfilm top
job (so far officially denied), she will apparently still continue to
interfere in the Star Wars franchise!! :-(

Kathleen Kennedy Likely to Produce Star Wars Movie
    Even After Lucasfilm Exit
    --------------------------------------------------
More information about Kathleen Kennedy's reported exit from
Lucasfilm has come to light, with The InSneider's Jeff Sneider
noting that Kennedy will likely still be attached to the world
of Star Wars in some capacity.

What do we know about Kathleen Kennedy's Lucasfilm exit?
Sneider's latest report notes that, even when Kennedy steps
down from her role at Lucasfilm, the legendary Hollywood
producer will still be "producing projects within the Star
Wars universe for years to come." Sneider notes past moves
like Amy Pascal leaving Sony and still being a credited
producer on the Tom Holland Spider-Man films as precedent.

The report also mentions that Kennedy will likely end up being
listed as a producer on the planned Star Wars movie from Shawn
Levy, as well as Simon Kinberg's planned trilogy.

Earlier this week,Puck News' Matthew Belloni reported that
Kennedy, who has been the president ofDisney's Lucasfilm since
2012, wasplanning to vacate her positionby the end of the
    year.

An unnamed source told Belloni, "Kathy [Kathleen] was actually
planning to leave last year, I'm told, and had even set up an
exit interview with a journalist, but she decided to stay for
    one more year."

Under Kennedy's leadership, Lucasfilm released a newStar Wars
movie every year from 2015, including 2015's The Force Awakens,
2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, 2017's The Last Jedi,
2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, and 2019's The Rise of
    Skywalker.

While there hasn't been a new Star Wars movie in some time -
the next one being 2026's The Mandalorian & Grogu - there have
also been a number of Star Wars television series that have been
released while Kennedy has been in charge, such as
The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, Andor, and The Book of
    Boba Fett, among other titles.
