Everybody knows that there are tons of manga about cooking, eating, and restaurants but I checked out "Genmai Sensei no Bentou Bako" from SFPL and
got interested in this genre. It's all about growing food (farming) or
making edible products (such as sake) and they often explore topics such as conservation and how modern society is destroying the Earth.

Genmai Sensei no Bentou Bako
I just finished volume 3 and this is about a college lecturer trying to educate his students about farming. The very first few episodes involve
making "nuka-miso," which is rice bran use to store yeast for fermenting raw vegetables. Nuka-miso does not contain any miso, BTW. I really appreciate this manga's messages and I feel guilty for living in suburb and being cut
off from the nature.
Natsuko no Sake
I found the entire run at a used book sale. It's about a girl returning to her family brewery after her older brother's passing and became determined
to make best sake. This also discuss pesticide and other issues with modern farming. I also have first couple issues of the prequel about her
grandmother marrying into this family. Traditionally, women are not allowed in the brewery because they "taint" the facility.
Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture
When I read the first volume it was intriguing because the main character
can see and communicate with bacteria. However, some volumes are quite preachy and it goes into white women cosplaying a lot.
