Here is the Comic Strip Index Retro for the Cincinnati Post and

There were no full-time changes to the Post and Times-Star's comic
page in 1963, but the paper published in large tyoe on Novermber 22
these words:
JFK SHOT BY ASSASSIN
Earlier in the day, WLW Radio's Fred Bernard interrupted his show,
the Tune Pike, with saying "there is something happening....Yes, there
is." He then read the first bulletin of the shooting. Several minutes
later, a couple of voices were heard saying that Kennedy had been
shot. The Tune Pike would be essentially be the last entertainment WLW
would carry for the next few days. There was to be no pro wrestling,
Skipper Ryle, NCAA Football, NCAA Football, etc. on TV or radio as
stations covered the assassination. The Post and Times-Star's November
25 edition covered JFK's funeral with these words: "Life is Not Taken
Away - But Changed."
Back to the topic at hand. The Post and Times-Star added two
Christmas strips that year, The Three Little Pigs' Christmas Story,
the Disney Xmas strip published in Perky Panda's Playtime, and the
NEA Christmas strip, The Gifts of the Magi by O. Henry, drawn by Ralph
Lane.
You might have noticed that the Post and Times-Star had only picked
up two comic strips from 1961-1963. The following year, it wouldn't be
so dull during the previous three years.
Next: A group of Englishmen hit town, and another Englishman - as
well as the Circus -come to the funny pages.

Oops. It turned out they did add Miss Caroline in November 4, 1963 and it ran until JFK's assassination less than three weeks later.
