    Uh, I am fairly sure that flight was not intended to happen. At least

    There are still those who argue that Fred H. Marriott’s 1907 flight at
    190mph should be counted in the record books, even though it crashed.
    (His Stanley Steamer hit a bump and took off.)

    1907? That's four years after the Wright brothers and five years after
    Richard Pearse. Of course, it's 124 years after the real "first flight"
    - a hot air balloon flight in 1783.
