Umm!! Well, no, I thought they ended 20 or more years ago ....
I think 'they' tried a Young Indiana film .... and that
wrecked the franchise.

No, Disney/Lucasfilm made a fifth Indiana Jones film in 2023
with Harrison Ford as an old Indiana Jones, and a de-aged (CGI)
Harrison Ford as a younger version of himself.

He was only "de-aged" for a few flashback scenes. For the vast majority
of the movie he played his normal age.

"The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones" was a TV series that ran for 28 >episodes (2 seasons), although they later re-edited the episodes into a >series of four TV-movies. The main problem with the show was that the >storyline was disjointed and kept jumping to Indy at two different ages
- one episode he was a kid in Egypt, the next episode he was nearly 20
years old as a soldier in World War I, then back again.
Since then there have been two more cinema movies. Realistically the
first two movies were good, but each subsequent movie has been worse
and worse.

Just a rumour at this stage ... BUT despite Disney's claims the fifth
movie would be the "last", it would be no surprise at all for them to
reboot the franchise with a black and/or female Indy (although a female
might be too close to Lara Croft for the lawyers). Disney was never
going to let such a money-making franchise sit idle.

Harrison Ford [at 80] carried the movie, which was just a safe
re-hash of what had gone before... Indiana Jones by the numbers.
(The ending was a bit mad though.) Probably watchable fare for a
Bank Holiday in front of the television, but not a patch on the
first couple of Indiana Jones films. ("Raiders of the Lost Ark"
and "Temple of Doom".)

The 4th movie, "Legend of the Crystal Skulls" was about 10 years
ago...known for Jones riding out a nuclear test explosion in a
refrigerator. The last one (5th) was released by Disney about 2 years
ago and stunk like rotting cabbage.

Technically, the Indiana Jones franchise went progressively
downhill after the first two films, which is what happen when
you return to the well too often... Hollywood hasn't really
learnt that lesson though as we can see now where everything is
just a remake or reboot.

"Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny".
Some people are saying the recent game, "Indiana Jones and the Great
Circle", is a good story, although the game itself has divided opinion.
I haven't played it though.
