they were supposed to look as depicted in the books and on the covers of

references to exactly what they look like. Hermione is a representation
of JK Rowling herself, a self insert, and has red/strawberry blonde hair
and fair skin just like Rowling and you can see her face change colour
when her cheeks turn red.

The character also calls herself a mud blood in the books. That term was
never intended to infer that she was mixed race or non-British.

It is totally unacceptable to change the race of a literary character
