This is MY twenty best/important episodes of Doctor Who since
the show returned in March 2005... Like the Radio Times list
it's one episode from each year as opposed to a straight top
twenty.
2005: Rose (Doctor Who was back!)
2006: Tooth and Claw
2007: Blink
2008: The Stolen Earth
2009: The End of Time
2010: Vincent and the Doctor

I really didn't like the Year of Specials and so I've cheated
by going back a week. If you make me pick a 2009 episode is
has to be Planet of the Dead, as the least worst. I love
Bernard Cribbins but he couldn't make up for the rest.

Everyone loved Bernard Cribbins!
From Doctor Who with Peter Cushing to Doctor Who with David
Tennant... via Jackanory and the Wombles. ;-)
RIP Wilf Mott.

Do you seriously think that Isaac Newton was an Indian, that
you can pull one person out of another while regenerating, and
whacking a TARDIS with a mallet causes it to double? This is
nothing more than degenerate sexist and racist fan fic.

Yeah, I could agree with that but "Rose" was the return that we

I will agree with you
with the one where Whittaker gets dunked into the
water. The only problem with it is that she should have
never been lifted out of it again. Then Spyfall, then
there's no choice but Resolution since it was the only episode

Universal/Fox's rights to the show expired in 2005. The BBC should have >required them to broadcast at least one new episode at least 43 minutes
long every year from 1996 onwards otherwise the rights would revert back
to the BBC. The BBC back then was and still is run by a bunch of morons.

Well, that's a start... but I don't think you've quite got the
idea of the game.
It was supposed to be one episode per year of New Who... you
have picked two episodes from 2023 and none from the other 19
years. Apart from telling us what episode(s) you didn't like of
course. So maybe you'd like to try again?
Or are your choices top secret and classified by the Canadian
government?

2005: Rose (Doctor Who was back!)
2006: Tooth and Claw
2007: Blink
2008: The Stolen Earth
2009: The End of Time
2010: Vincent and the Doctor
2011: The Girl Who Waited

For me:
2005: Dalek
2006: School Reunion
If forgot to put that in my list. I will add it counting The End of Time

Er... that thought scares me Dave... thanks though, but it's not
about taking sides.
If I hadn't seen "Victory of the Daleks" since it was broadcast
(2010) it's possible I could mis-remember things too... nobody
can remember everything about every Doctor Who episode. My
memory is very good but it ain't perfect! However, the last
time we discussed this here on RADW I had re-watched the episode
about three weeks before so it was very fresh in my mind. (I
love Daleks, they are the episodes that I do tend to re-watch
before any other.)
"Mavity" is the reason we know that we are currently in some
sort of parallel universe, which may or may not be connected to
the Toymaker...

This, I sincerely hope, is the theme of "The Reality War" -
which will bring RTDs "mavity" teaser to a conclusion, and
possibly re-merge the Doctors? That would lay the groundwork
for the rumoured "second year of Tennant specials".

Yes, that is the episode. Daniel is mixing them up. Although he

seems to have forgotten that too!
Winston Churchill & Daleks = Victory of the Daleks
Winston Churchill & flying trains = Wedding of River Song

Reality and getting back to the 'real' universe is a good call.
The "mavity" thing was going to have to be tied-up at some
stage. As is the Susan Twist thing too, she's back next season
so I assume she's a part of it. Reality "war" makes sense if the
end result is the real reality!
I was hoping that the rumours of Ncuti Gatwa leaving were wrong
and we'd get another season of the 15th Doctor but no smoke
without fire and all that...
MY point is Dannyboy forgets too easily!

Wedding of River Song = A Dalek, Winston Churchill, trains in
the sky, floating cars, plus the Doctor with a beard.
*Victory of the Daleks*
Winston, WWII, Amy, Ironsides (a.k.a. Daleks),
Victory of the Daleks = Winston Churchill, Ironsides, barrage
balloons floating above London and Spitfires in space!

Correct, both were 11th Doctor episodes... "Victory of the

1) It wasn't that long ago. Well, relatively. I'm a Doctor Who
geek, I can still remember the main points of episodes from the

So who is the oldest Usenet poster still around?
Oldest person on RADW? Hmmm ...
Well, Daniel called me a pup when I said I was 59 a few
weeks back so that means he's a bit older than me. I'd
say he'll be close to winning that award as he's in his
late 60's. But maybe somebody else here is older than
that?
Age = maturity, so it'll surely be one of the more
sensible people around here... i.e. not me or you!!!
that he is 68, will be 69 some time this summer (well,
winter from his perspective) and will be 70 in 2026.
I'm 63 so think I'm the second oldest regular
I was thinking overall UseNet.
Well, Binky, why don't YOU use YOUR vast ISP/NSP resources to
find out??
And who cares about the rest of Usenet anyway? Outside of RADW
most of it is a wasteland... whilst another part is full of
Trump/Musk posts, either for or against.
RADW is where the cool dudes hang...
What about the sports areas?
