Rene Brunet, a New Orleans film exhibition icon for decades, died today, just shy of his 96th birthday. Among his many accomplishments was the restoration of Louisiana's only single screen movie venue, the Prytania. He was a film buff and diehard
stickler for proper film presentation. He will be dearly missed by film fans and historians citywide. So long, Rene.
