That's the common belief -- and I share it.
How is that true? I know I have only missed one election (federal,
provincial or local) since coming of age and THAT was deliberate since
I was moving 1500 miles away 6 weeks after the election and didn't
feel I had the right to vote for legislators since I'd be paying all
my taxes in another jurisdiction far away.
(I kinda got into that mode after seeing my grandfather run
unsuccessfully twice for federal office - for one of the major parties
but which wasn't strong in that particular district - though he did
sign up the man who eventually DID take that seat for the party 2 or 3 elections later and held it for 15 years)
