    I     have been reading this off and on for the last few weeks.
    It is fantasy and all the gods involved are African.

    Title David Mogo God Hunter set in Lagos, Nigeria where a bunch of Gods

    and godlings have fallen to earth with disasterous results for the city of

    Lagos and the Nigerian Government.  David Mogo is a demigod and makes

    a living dealing with these largely annoying manifestations.

    The godlings are not very coherent beings but can be very annoying

    to householders.  Well in the courses of the novel David meets his

    goddess mother and is forced by circumstances to becomer like her

    a god of War and Chaos.  He has human friends and friends who are

    wizards.  He has some tricky gods for allies as well.  His enemies are

    gods ejected from their natural home for disagreement with the senior

    god.  Lots of pain and torture by the enemy god and final triumph.
