It is altogether right and proper that they did this.
But there's a reason why many awards specifically exclude the giving
of posthumous awards, from the Nobel Prize on down.
Will there have to be a rule specifically excluding Verne and Wells -
not to mention Asimov, Clarke, and Heinlein - from consideration?
