Great book, movie, and tv series. Very good author occasionally.
I would say "good" not "very good". Mostly "average".
But some of the movies are very good even though the book is not.
A while back, I ordered some stuff from Amazon. I accepted their
"accept a delivery date of 12/28/23 [ten days out, IIRC] in return for
a digital coupon. But mostly because I didn't need the stuff before
Christmas and so no reason to put additional pressure on them.
I expected that they would take their time, package everything
together, and get it here the 28th.
Well, they split it into packages -- and one of them showed up
12/24/23. So, while Santa may not have got here, Amazon did.
Presumably, this was not rushed at all, but simply found space on the truck/plain from Missouri to Seattle and then was easier to deliver
than to keep until the 28th and occupying shelf space perhaps better
devoted to other packages. So the date proposed is more of a deadline.
The other package was received from Florida on the 24th but has not
yet made it into a truck. Well, they have today, tomorrow and Thursday
to meet the 12/28/23 delivery date, so we shall see.
That one has the 8 lb 1500 page /Flashpoint: The 10th Anniversay
Omnibus/ in it. I'm hoping to get some insight into some of the things
in the movie that weren't in the /Flashpoint/ graphic novel.
