Shipwrecked on a forested island, a robot learns to talk to the animals.
Although Dreamworks's THE WILD ROBOT, on Netflix, was well-received by
critics and audiences, it didn't quite rise above my cloy threshold.
(It's no IRON GIANT.) However, it's been a while since I've watched >state-of-the-art animation, and I was transfixed. Recommended.

It kind of jumped the shark for me when the animals pledged to stop
eating each other and started building fires.

It was okay, but not great. The storyline was simply too 'blah' to be particularly interesting.

Being based on a kids' book probably allowed little story leeway.
