Olivia Colman is a terrific actress and she shines in this one. The “Empire“ in the title is a once fabulous but now just very nice British coastal town movie theater and the “light” is the beam that puts wonderful movies on the screen. The story is moving, the actors are charming, the production values are first rate and I am glad I watched it.
