Hey,
Before all the MAGA waggers start yelling "Go woke, Go broke" (you know, like Barbie) it should be pointed out that female leads in action films were common in the 1920s. Check out the wuxia films made in China. Two more recent films -- Salt and Domino --
did just fine at the box office.
Anyway, it seems that Bourne and not Bond provides a lot of influence in chase scenes and hand-to-hand combat scenes. This was a fun film -- whether it becomes the prelude to a franchise remains to be seen -- if you ignore the usual devices such as a
MacGuffin and a vague faceless enemy. A time killer. You know, an action film.
