On a private island, guests arrive for an extensive, expensive gourmet
evening. The dark comedy THE MENU, on HBOMax, features Ralph Fiennes as kitchen maestro, choosing his diners as carefully as the comestibles he
serves them. Alas, this nicely plated and full-bodied production has
payoffs that are surprisingly wilted and stale. Somewhat recommended.
