• "The Outfit" No Spoilers

From Irish Mike@21:1/5 to All on Sun May 15 05:52:52 2022
Just watched "The Outfit" on Netflix DVD and
really enjoyed it. Film in set in gangland Chicago
in the mid-1950s. Irish mob vs the others, But
this is definitely not your typical gangster flick.
Some very good acting and equally good plot twists.
I'd recommend giving it a look.

Also worth mentioning is that virtually the entire film takes place in two rooms and only features a handful of actors. Very good cast with the
exception of Zoey Deutch whose character morphs into something she can't do
    in Act III.

Her character shifts gears and she doesn't portray the change well.

Ah, I don't disagree. But I do remember that it was hard to get a
handle on anyone's true character (as is often true of a stage play).

So what you're saying, in essence, is that this film
    isn't as good as Sharknado...

Oh, I could watch 2 hours of Mark Rylance swimming at 60 mph in a rain
puddle on the highway. But I did think this movie had a curio aspect --
like a snow globe -- with an appeal less broad than it tried for.
