Is The Economic Infrastructure Reality?

There are many people who refer to the political-economic infrastructure as “reality” or “the real world.” Meanwhile they completely forget about a greater reality – the reality of the planet, within which this infrastructure exists and without
which it would have no existence. And this failure to compute the reality of the planet is now causing major problems all around the world.
Both nature and civilization are real. Both need to be in the best shape that they can be. I do not recommend going back to the land or going off the grid. I recommend using better technologies. That way people will have the benefits of the civilization
while taking care to tread lighter on nature.
So, some people believe that leaving this infrastructure should carry heavy penalties. However society needs original contributions; and sometimes in order to make an original contribution you do have to leave the infrastructure, either mentally or
physically. I took two years off of work to translate full body of poetry by Russian poets Marina Tsvetayeva and Igor Severyanin. It was a much bigger contribution to society than what I had made when I was working for a living. It is the only such work
in the English language, and it is being read all around the world.
Of course there will be people leaving this infrastructure in order to bum around, and I don’t see why public resources should be expended for such a thing. But if one is making a real contribution, then he should be rewarded for that. Once again,
sometimes doing this is necessary. One does valuable things, or one learns valuable things that he can teach others.
That the infrastructure is real, is certainly true. But it is complete folly to call it reality. Things should be called by their proper names. The Sun, the Earth, the oceans, the Amazon and the rest of the world is reality. They need to be computed in
the reality calculus. This will correct the worst error with the present arrangement and pay people’s attention to many problems that have been ignored for too long.
