That brings back memories. In 1975 I had my own place, a basement
apartment, in North York (a TO suburb), and 2 friends from work, a guy
and a girl, used to drop in. (They later fell in love and eloped to
Montreal, but that's not part of the story We were all into classic rock
    - he introduced me to Rush - but she used to bring her little sister,
    who had got into disco.

One day I heard this song, so I bought the 45 and played it for the girl
once, and she loved it; but the next time I played it, the sister
complained and we took it off. Then, 2 or 3 weeks later, the sister
asked me to play it again - it was now being played in the discos.

There's a sequel: about 6 months later, I took it and some other records
to a party, and the DJ stole it.

To make a long story short; I was planning to put it on. You beat me to
it, but the version I found is a bit longer and (if possible) even a bit freakier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD6PqT3LjQk

We now have 27 songs on part 1 (which runs from 1971 to 1976), and I
have 3 more 1976 songs on my list. So I'm going to put them on, and then
time it. I think part 1 is done. Songs from 1977 on can still be added,
and they'll be used in part 2.

I know I can look it up, but how long does the Disco era last?

Good question. Around 1982 (the time of the coming of Madonna and
Prince) it got rebranded "dance music" but we don't have to go with
that. I was planning to end with Rick Astley in 1984.

But my daughter mentioned there was a disco revival in the 90s, and she
had a couple of favorites she wanted to post, and if she does I'll use
    them time permitting.

Still thinking about the question. I think the heyday of disco, when it
ruled the charts was 1977-1979, then new wave dethroned it in 1980. So
I'm expecting a lot from those three years, with a long tail in the
1980s. (Like with new wave, where the last song we used was "Love Shack"
    in 1989.)
