Prime Video Cancels Highly-Rated Show Before Season 2
-----------------------------------------------------
Despite garnering impressive reviews from critics and audiences
alike in its debut outing, a popular Prime Video show will not
be getting a Season 2 on the streaming platform. It was
recently confirmed that Motorheads will not be moving ahead
with a follow-up edition, effectively ending its run on Prime
Video. However, the coming-of-agedrama might still be able to
witness a second season sometime in the near future, albeit on
a different service.
Motorheads gets canceled before Season 2
According to a recent report published by Deadline, Prime Video
has officially canceled Motorheads, three months after the May 20
premiere of its 10-episode first season.
Nevertheless, the Motorheads producers have received permission
from Amazon to seek new pastures for the show, keeping hopes for
a potential Season 2 alive.
"We set out to make a show with no agenda and a lot of heart, to
give families something they can watch together. While Johnny and
I are disappointedMotorheadswon't be continuing at Prime Video,
we couldn't be more proud of what the team created," Motorheads
executive producer Jason Seagraves noted.
He then expressed hope in landing a new streaming home for
Motorheads Season 2, stating, "Despite going into release with
impossibly low audience awareness, our passionate and vocal fan
base led the charge and made the series impossible to ignore.
Their enthusiasm has energized us, and we're optimistic we'll
find a home that believes in and supports the show."
Created by John A. Norris, Motorheads revolves around the
misadventures of a group of high school outcasts who formulate
bonds with one another over their shared love for street racing.
While regrouping over the subject of automobiles, the outsiders
also help each other in navigating the hurdles of life.
FeaturingMichael Cimino, Melissa Collazo,Ryan Phillippe,and
Nathalie Kelley in leading roles, Motorheads premiered on Prime
Video on May 20, recording a 78% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes,
alongside an overly positive audience score of 95%.
