BREAKING: The White House melts down and attacks music legend Jack
White
Who?
I'm not even being snarky. I've never heard of the guy.
He's half of Tenacious D and has done a few other things. "Legend" is a
very, very generous description.
LOL. That's Jack Black who also has made a name for himself as an
actor.
Jack White is a well known musician. Probably best known for THE WHITE
STRIPES with Meg White. Their best known song was probably Seven
Nation Army. No idea what is going on between Jack and Trump as I
haven't followed Jack White's career.
He also produced one of Loretta Lynn's albums and they had a close
(platonic) relationship in her twilight years, they made a Grammy
appearance together as I remember.
He lives in Nashville and runs a recording studio and a vinyl record
pressing plant, just going from memory.
Oh yeah, he has at least one movie credit -- Cold Mountain with Jude Law
and Nicole Kidman.
No doubt he's well known enough to have a bio on a Wiki page.
I looked and you're right. The Politics section of the page makes it
pretty clear why there's antagonism between White and Trump:

Here's that section verbatim:
=========================================================================== Politics
In October 2016, upon learning that Republican presidential candidate
Donald Trump had used the White Stripes song Seven Nation Army in video campaign materials, the band denounced the presidential candidate[195]
and began selling shirts reading "Icky Trump"—a play on the White
Stripes song "Icky Thump"—through the Third Man Records website.[196] He publicly endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries and performed a six-song set at a Sanders event
at Cass Technical High School on October 27, 2019. At the rally, White
stated that he believes that "Sanders is telling the truth, and I really
do trust him". He was drawn in by Sanders' view that the Electoral
College should be abolished, also stating at the rally that "I have this
silly notion that the person who gets the most votes should be elected"
and "[the Electoral College] is the reason we're in the mess we're in now".[197]
On November 20, 2022, White wrote a note to Elon Musk explaining his
reason for leaving the Twitter platform; he said, "So you gave Trump his Twitter platform back. Absolutely disgusting, Elon. That is officially
an asshole move".[198] In August 2024, White threatened to sue the
Donald Trump 2024 presidential campaign after "Seven Nation Army" was
once again used without permission, calling Trump and the campaign staff "fascists".[199] He and Meg reunited to file a copyright infringement
lawsuit in September 2024,[200][201] which was later dropped in November 2024.[202][203] In August 2025, White allowed California Governor Gavin
Newsom to use "Seven Nation Army" on an Instagram post highlighting his
efforts to counter mid-decade redistricting efforts by Republicans in
Texas, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, and Missouri. He commented, "Fans of this
song and also democracy, notice that I'm ok with this track being used
in this manner. Not so much when Trump and his gestapo try to use one of
my songs. Keep hitting him back Gavin!"[204]
