By the time Dick Sergeant came around, the show was clearly running out of >> ideas and recycling plots from earlier seasons.
Like many long-running shows, it gradually turned into a children's
show. The later episodes are just silly stuff about magic. When I first
saw some of the early B&W episodes, I was surprised by all the alcohol
and the more complex plots.
Also, fun trivia note: Bewitched is the first US TV show in which a
married couple share one bed without the actors being married in real
life. Racy stuff for the times.
