    Hey, thanks for asking!

    WEDNESDAY S02E01
This was OK, but not great.
It’s good looking but very poorly directed. There were a lot of times you couldn’t tell what was going on and a lot of shots that didn’t match the alternate angle.

I laughed out loud at the credits. There are two dozen producers, assistant producers, executive producers, and co-producers.
    There are 43 assistant directors!

So the nevermore school is just somewhere you can drive from the Addams
    family mansion?

A lot of the plot didn’t make any sense. Why would Wednesday not like
serial killers? How can she only have one copy of her manuscript when she’s been sending it off to publishers? If she’s not willing to change a word,
why doesn’t she just self publish? If she doesn’t want her mother to ever read it why is she going to publish it at all? Clearly this is not a show you’re supposed to think about.

The DVR is down to 2% full. I watched some of HELEN OF TROY mostly because it’s one of the movies they made a Time Tunnel episode out of.

I watched JESSICA GREEN IS CLEOPATRA IN ROMAN EMPIRE. IMDB says she’s in
the first five episodes of season two but despite being shown in the main credits, she doesn’t make an appearance until more than halfway through episode four. Ian take note.

I'm one of the people who is annoyed that they retooled it for season

Yesterday was a Samara Weaving film festival!! ;p

Throughout the (second-half of the) week I've been watching:

soaps: Y&R - Only saw all of about a 2 complete episodes of 5 (though I
saw parts of most or all of the 5). I did like that when Victor acts
like an ass (about Kyle) for the umpteenth time, and during Cole's
memorial no less! Claire has had enough, and basically tells the old man
to shove it. Then she plots to stick it to him! Audra blows off Sally
when Sally warns Audra that Kyle and Victor (and now Claire) can blow
Audra's relationship with Nate out of the water at any moment. Billy
warns Jack what Cane is up to, and basically pledges to spy on Cane for
the Abbotts, but Phyllis tries to "fire" Billy (I don't think she has
the authority!). Victor tries to convince Lily to spy on Cane.
B&B - It took forever, but Dr. Buckingham finally gets out to Liam
and Hope that the brain tumor thing was all a con - for her effort, she
gets slapped by Hope, and then I think Finn was going to take her to the
cop shop to turn herself in... Sheila discovers that cute (but EVOL!)
Luna is still alive! and the aunt doctor has Luna stashed away in secret.
DOOL - Again, very little memorable happened. (That's been the
pattern lately...) Johnny's trial continues. Nu(lame!)Sophia continues
trying to keep up the baby adoption fraud going, but I think Tate is
just about to sue her over it.
GH - I may have only seen an episode of this since my last report.
Ric hires Martin Gray to be his lawyer to extricate Ric from his illicit "partnership" with Ava as they continue to turn on each other. Ava
plants one on Cody, which awful Kristina witnesses, and conspires to
keep NuNuNuMolly away from. Anna is going to get kicked out of her condo because of Emma's dumb dog. Emma vows to break into the evol professor
dude's lab - I won't be sorry if Emma gets righteously murdered for her efforts, despite her filling out a bikini pretty good. ;)

I saw an episode of "Shifting Gears (ep. #7? or #8?) on Hulu - it's the
one that introduces Jenna Elfman as the owner of the dance studio across
the way - while I haven't missed Elfman at all, she wasn't awful in
this, so that's something I guess...

I saw a final season episode of "Baywatch" (really, season #2 of
"Baywatch: Hawaii") on the Tubi that guest-starred "Night Man!"(!) and a
very young Victor Webster as a con man who seduces Krista Allen to steal
    her money!

    Then movies on Friday:

Fallen (Tubi) - The 2016 film starring Addison Timlin (whose IMDb cast
listing I actually had to fix yesterday!).
It's funny - ever since I stumbled across this flick, I seem to end
up watching it every 3-4 years. This is probably my third or fourth run
    through it.
Anyway, this was surely the last of the 2000s-2010s "attempts to
ignite a film series based on some YA fantasy book series".
In fact, it feels like a movie where somebody saw the B.O. returns
on "Vampire Academy" and "Allegiant" and said "Nope! This isn't going to
work! Pull the funding!!" leaving them scrambling to pull together
shoestring financing to even finish it.
It has a decent enough cast - Joely Richardson, along with Daisy
Head and Hermione Corfield (before anybody knew who Corfield was!). But
it was filmed in Hungary, and is mostly lacking in EFX (and what EFX it
does have, at the film's end, are pretty darn slipshod!), and it sort of
just *ends* - not really on a "cliffhanger", but without any meaningful resolution.
Despite all of that, I'm somewhat fond of this one (I think it's for
Timlin and her character more than anything).
I couldn't remember who the "secret villain" of the thing was - I
was disappointed it didn't turn out to be Lola Kirke's character, who
pretty much screams out a "I'm a creepy stalker, and I'm here to
    secretly murder you!!" vibe.
Anyway, this one almost feels like it would have gone better if
they'd try to make a limited TV series of it instead of a film.
Considering it's era (mid-2010s), it might have actually worked as a
limited series at some place like Netflix.

    Samara Weaving film festival!!:

    Azrael (Hulu) - A 2024 "indie cred" flick (it's from IFC Pictures!!1!)
that was probably filmed for a $1.98, in *Estonia* of all places! that
is pretty much a film with no dialogue (only one character in the whole
thing speaks, and he was speaking a weird language I didn't recognize,
which I am now assuming was Estonian!).
Of the two Samara Weaving films I watched I preferred this one.
    It's set not just "post-Apocalypse" but "post-Rapture"!! (that's a swtich!). And it's a decent enough thriller/chase flick:
Weaving's character (I guess she's Azreal?) is being pursued by a
cult(?) of post-Rapture freaks that want to sacrifice her to some
critters (as, apparently, Weaving's character is part of some "prophesy"
of theirs) - OK, they're really monsters (the credits call them "burnt"
men and women), and the make-up work on these critters/monsters is
actually pretty good IMO. Anyway, the critters are basically vampires in
the form of "burnt people" (is any of this in the Book of Revelations?!).
Anyway, the first half of the flick is Weaving trying to escape from
both the crazy cultists and the burnt-people vampires.
It takes too long to get there, IMO, but eventually this does turn
into a Revenge! REVENGE!! flick as Weaving takes her sweet revenge! on
the crazy cultists who went after her and her sweetheart (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett).
I didn't care for the very ending, though it probably makes sense in context. It's just not particularly satisfying.

Borderline (Peacock) - This 2025 flick, OTOH, I thought was almost a
    full misfire.
I've seen this happen before - "horror comedy" is quite hard to pull
off, and if you don't do it just right, it doesn't come off as "funny"
but as inappropriate and appalling. This flick ended up with the latter
much, much more often than the former.
In addition to getting the tone of the flick almost totally wrong
IMO, they also don't seem to know what era they're writing about. While
this is supposed to be set in the 1990s, they keep making cultural
references to, and partially using a soundtrack from, the 1980s - they
wold have been better off just setting this in the 80s.
Anyway, in this one Weaving stars as a "1990s" "pop star" (think...
I'm drawing a blank here!). In the film's open, her bodyguard (hey! it's
Eric Dane!) is reeled in by and then attacked by a blissful, "charming" delusional psycho (Ray Nicholson) who believes he is Weaving's
    character's great love.
    IOW, he's a deranged stalker.
Flash-forward 6 months, and Dane somehow survived the attack, and is
about to go back to work bodyguarding Weaving, though his tween daughter (Yasmeen Kelders) doesn't approve of this. (Hey! It's Canuck actress
Catherine Lough Haggquist playing the girl's mother!)
And Weaving's pop star seems to be dating an NBA player (Jimmie
Fails - really?! that's his real name?!!), though it's not going well!
Anyway, of course, Ray Nicholson's psycho stalker breaks out of the
loony bin(?), and now he's got a "crew" with him - a crazy French(?)
woman (Alba Baptista) - I never believed she was French, I just assumed
she was delusional - and "muscle" (Patrick Cox).
This would have been fine, I think, if they played this as straight "horror-thriller". But, instead, the psychos are all appalling
flamboyant (and violent), and I think the movie wants us to find them
amusing, but I just found them (and the whole tone of the movie,
    actually) off-putting.
About all I can say here is that I think the movie's second-half is
better than it's first-half. But all in all, I think this was a pretty
    bad "miss".

Well, they dropped the two love interests for starters (and I think the

I think they also did other stuff, like focused primarily on the
    "mystery" elements over everything else.

Regardless, when I read what they did, I pretty much lost interest...

So was this due to new writers or did the old writers just not want to
continue the old story lines. I do believe the one love interest had
to go due to some issue with the actor, or at least they needed to
    replace the actor.

couldn’t tell what was going on and a lot of shots that didn’t match the
    alternate angle.

I'm one of the people who is annoyed that they retooled it for season >>>> #2, as it's another example of a "bait & switch". So I'm not really
    missing this.

Yeah, I didn’t like the retooling, but I was trying to avoid spoilers. >>
    What was retooled?

Amongst other things, they went DEAD ZONE with Wednesday’s character so when people touch her, she gets psychic visions that are apparently
unrelated to who touched her, causing her to collapse and bleed black from her eyes.

Wasn't she having psychic flashes last season, too? Did they just add the eye bleeding?

Well, they dropped the two love interests for starters (and I think the
father of one of the love interests was the local sheriff, so I'm
    assuming they dropped him too...).

No, the sheriff is still there, although not a sheriff anymore. As for the love interest, where could they go with it? He was the killer and murderous beast.

Was that the townie love interest (the sheriff's son)? How do they
explain the other love interest, the kid at the school, being gone?

Well, remember - no one in the movie talks. So we only get names from
the flick's end-credits. I'm guessing the name of Weaving's character in
the credits might actually be "symbolic" as much as anything...

He is off at another school in Europe. Presumably because of all the
    troubles from last year.

So was this due to new writers or did the old writers just not want to continue the old story lines. I do believe the one love interest had
to go due to some issue with the actor, or at least they needed to
    replace the actor.

I’ve not been following the behind-the-scenes drama.
