Hey, thanks for asking!
The Librarians: The Next Chapter
And the Feast of the Vampire
(Ian, note that IMDb has the title wrong. There is no E on the end of
vampire. They even mention it in the episode.)
S01E09
After last week’s disaster, the show is back on track as they go to a
vampire festival not expecting real vampires. Jessica Green gets to play
her character Charlie off duty which means she’s smiling and charming and having fun. The one big misfire about her character is that while attending
a vampire festival where everybody is dressing up as vampires and posing as vampires with fake teeth for pictures, they never actually make her up as a vampire which would be so awesome. But Serbia is full of beautiful pale
women with black hair so that helps a lot.
Pavle Jerinic (Felix Strickland on The Ark) plays the first recorded
vampire who for reasons they don’t explain is also the first vampire and we never find out how or why. He’s being chased by a vampire hunter from The Outpost. We are also treated to a visit to the real library and even get to
see Excalibur again.
From the writer of the second episode, where they changed the shows format
from The Librarians to Warehouse the 13th the series. Which is sort of odd because she actually worked on the original The Librarians series.
There are several moments of big burning onions of stupidity, but all in
all it was enough fun to forgive them.
Other than that, background noise consisted of Gunsmoke reruns, which
appear on several channels and Elementary reruns when the Cox DVR service
went out as it does daily.
On Gunsmoke, actor Morgan Woodward played an old Marshall with a crippled
arm and/or hands who returns to Dodge seeking vengeance. The interesting
thing is that he does this as two different characters in two different episodes a decade apart, and they showed them back to back yesterday. I was very confused for a while. Also actor Ron Hayes (Lincoln Vail of the Everglades, the man on patrol in the Everglades) played identical
characters in identical stories with two different character names in two different back-to-back episodes from the same season. That was even more confusing. They even got a look-alike of his partner in the first episode
to play his partner in the second episode!
