• Trump has gone insane on denying actual tourists entry into the United

Here's an article it is on how hard Trump has made it for foreigners to
travel into the United States. Too many people are accused of intending
to violate visa conditions, get shackled, then eventually deported. If
it happens at entry, they couldn't have possibly broken the law.

What does any of this have to do with cracking down on illegal border
crossings and actual visa overstays by years?

An Iranian woman who has been in the United States 47 years and has an
American husband and daughter, is being held in custody to be deported.

She's never missed an immigration check in.

She's so sympathetic that House Majority Leader Steve Scalise intervened
to get ICE to release her.

So if you're married to an American citizen, you have to continue to check in with the government for the rest of your life?

I thought marriage got you permanent residency and that was it. I guess if you get divorced at some point, you might be required to go back to your home country, but I didn't realize you had to constantly check in with the government for decades.

I thought the same. The only time one might get extra questioning is
when first coming into the country to make sure the marriage is real
and not just a sham marriage to get someone into the country.

So you're saying I should blame Jimmy Carter for the mess with her lack
of an immigration visa which she should have obtained at the time?

    Point taken.
