and in random order. I happened to watch this one yesterday!
A lot of it is footage from the movie, which is of course the eight windows
sub without the flying sub hatch. They make a few changes which are for the better. For instance, Richard Basehart explains why icebergs are sinking,
and why diving gets you away from them which I think comes from the
Theodore Sturgeon novel. Also, they’re at the south pole instead of the
north and only the southern hemisphere is on fire which lets them use
regular stock footage of the flying sub while it’s north of the equator and also let them argue about not taking a chance on threatening the northern hemisphere which is where everybody lives and just letting the southern hemisphere burn; wow!
I don’t think they ever did explain the bad guys motivations.
