Are you capable of expressing a thought about popular culture without
whining and adding vitriol? The Dukes of Hazzard was about as much representation of life in a Georgia rural county as Gone With the Wind represented the antebellum South, the Civil War, and its aftermath.
It's just entertainment.
Phil Robertson hardly invented reality television but he did figure out
how to exploit an audience for many years. Good for him. I'm sorry he'd
been in such poor health for quite a while. I don't need to admire his
opinions to think he figured out a way to exploit a television audience.
I didn't need to watch the show but I don't need to look down on him as
the reason why I didn't watch the show.
I thought there was some sort of business scandal but I don't recall any longer.
Oh! Catherine Bach wasn't even a Southerner, but I could suspend
disbelief because her legs looked so damn good in those absurdly short
shorts she always wore.
The terrible crime that the producers were responsible for was the
destruction of close to 400 Dodge Charges in that stupid stunt.
