• Pardoned January 6 convict on trial for homicide

    From Adam H. Kerman@21:1/5 to All on Mon Apr 28 20:57:22 2025
Shane Jason Woods was convicted of assaulting two people during the
January 6 riots and sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison. He's one of many
people convicted of crimes associated with the riot who were pardoned by
Donald Trump, who issued sweeping pardons without considering the
serious nature of the crimes convicted.

After the riot but before he'd been taken into federal custody, the man panicked when a police officer tried to pull his truck over knowing he
was facing serious federal prison time. He was briefly pulled over, then
tried to escape by driving the wrong way into traffic, causing the death
of a 35 year old woman in an accidental collision with her car.

He's been charged with first-degree murder. It must be depraved
indifferent homicide. More typically, homicide resulting from a driver
at fault for causing the accident due to criminal recklessness is
    charged with reckless homicide.

Let's stop praising Trump for anything and everything he's done since
his second term began, shall we?
