• What Did You Watch? 2025-03-18 (Tuesday)

    From Ian J. Ball@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 19 05:44:50 2025
Yesterday is my "short day", but I still didn't watch much - just soaps
    - and either did work or played a video game aside from that:

soaps: DOOL - Thur's ep. They shifted gears to mostly stuff that wasn't interesting. NuTheresa (who's back, at least for now) harangues Tate
about getting Sophia pregnant; then Sophia's mom (sans NuSophia) shows
up and gets all judgy with ex-con Theresa! Later, Paulina tries to work
things out with Sophia's mom, but the latter is adamant about EJ being
an adoption deal-breaker. Belle swears up and down to Marlena that she's
going to go after EJ in her role as DA; but later EJ shows up on her
doorstep, and I'm pretty sure Belle is just going to boff him again!
GH - Thur's and Fri's ep's. Willow and Sasha continue tearing into
each other, and I think Willow got the last word (it's tough to make
Willow sympathetic, but Sasha is such a shrew that she manages to!!).
Charlotte is brought home and reunited with Lulu, so I guess she's
sticking around for a while (makes you wonder what the young Charlotte
actress had going on that she was off the show for months and
months...). Carly, after having made a rare good decision for once,
throws all of that away and surprise bangs! NuJack Brennan! But, at the
end, Valentin is lurking around, so I'm wondering if he's going to try
to kill Brennan again, with Carly in the crossfire... Brook Lynn isn't
nearly mad enough at her old EVOL! grandma about the adoption lie(s!)
nonsense. Ric Lansing interrupts Lizzie and Lucky about to "do it" (P.S.
I hate them as a couple!). Also, Ric tells Portia that, legally, she is *screwed*, and needs to roll over for Drew - as Drew has backed Portia
into a corner, Drew leverages her to get favorable press coverage for
himself (including from Curtis). On her B-Day, Trina is accidentally
given a gift that triggers her grief over dead Spencer. (It irks me that
no one remembers dead Esme - and I notice that Avery Pohl has done
nothing since leaving GH... I wonder if Pohl is done with acting, at
    least for a while.)

    And that was it.

    I didn't watch much.

The Righteous Gemstones (HBO) - "You Hurled Me Into the Very Heart of
the Seas" - Season 2, episode 2. The action returns to present with a
bunch of stuff that I wasn't giving my full attention.

    Ghosts - "Thorapy 2: Abandonment Issues" - Season 4, episode 11 from
last month. I have a large backlog of episodes. This was a ridiculous
episode with Sam seeing a therapist so she can say the ghosts' issues
are her issues and get advice for them.

    What did you watch?

I watched the first couple of episodes of THE HUNTING PARTY. In this
there is a super secret underground prison where super secret
experiments are being run on the prisoners (all super dangerous
types.) Then something happens and there is big explosion that allows
many of the super secret (supposedly already dead) prisoners to
    escape.

So a former FBI profiler is called back in to help re-capture the
escapees before they kill or are discovered to still be alive. This
really feels like a rehash of the ideas behind the series ALCATRAZ. In
that one a bunch of inmates from Alcatraz disappear in the 60s and
reappear in modern day times and need to be re-captured before they
kill again. In that one there was some sort of conspiracy where
experiments were done on the inmates that apparently helped them to
time jump. In THE HUNTING PARTY aside from the super secret prison
holding super secret prisoners that are supposedly already dead (to
the outside world) there appears to be a conspiracy that created the
explosion that allowed the prisoners to escape. Again, a similar idea
    behind both shows.
