    What did you watch?

    Hey, thanks for asking!

    SHIFTING GEARS S01E09.
The one with Dharma and also Jay Leno as himself.
Not only was there not a laugh. There wasn’t even a smile. and they know
it, too. They actually made a joke about watching old TV shows with stars
that look just like a young Tim Allen except he was actually funny.
The son is back to being a tard again and now he has a heavy lisp.

    TRACKER
    S02E05 Preternatural
    Worst of series
An extremely cute Alison Thornton plays 10 years under her age as a
16-year-old witch. Yes, she actually has magical powers and can cure cancer
and make women pregnant and bring the dying back to life and cure tracker
of a mortal wound. It was hard to tell, but she may have actually regrown
her own foot. The writing was absolutely terrible with the timelines making
no sense and things being completely inconsistent.it reminded me of the previous worst of series, last weeks, MONSTER, and checking it turns out
they were both written by the same incompetent person, Annakate Chappell,
and both full of the same idiotic mistakes, like Colter being on scene in
just a few hours after somebody disappeared.

And then I dug in and watched several other episodes most of which weren’t very good.

    Episode six TRUST FALL
Not exceedingly awful as tracker looks for a bunch of drunks that
disappeared on a camping trip. He picks up a new recurring character and ex
cop that I like and they needed.

    Episode seven MAN’S BEST FRIEND
An attempt to return a stolen dog involves tracker with stolen metric
statues and kidnapping and murder. For the first time I can recall, he
    refuses to take the fee.

Episode eight THE NIGHT MOVERS. Also written by their worst writer.
Annakate Chappell. Luckily CBS just showed the last few minutes of the
episode and its timeslot and the rest of it was equalizer. Part one of two.

Episode nine THE DISCIPLE. Tracker gets a lead on the missing girl who
started him on the track of being a tracker.

    Episode 10 NIGHTINGALE
Killings and kidnapping outside a bar involve biker gangs and crooked cops.

Not much at all. "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune". Then I watched the
last half of the "One Chicago" crossover on Monday, and chuckled when
the "Chicago Med" people showed up more in the "Chicago PD" episode
than in the episode of their own show! But I've finally seen Sarah
Ramos on "Med" - her character seems like a slightly cold fish, which I
guess means she's effectively Tori Devitto's replacement (years later).

Sorry if this is a duplicate. On my end it's not appearing so I'm
    resending.

I am so looking forward to when I start my Bond watch. 🙂

This is a multi-day catch up. Over the last few days I watched:

Better Man (Paramount+) 2024 musical bio-pic about British pop star
Robbie Williams. But this is a biopic with a twist, for no reason
that's ever explained or even commented on, Robbie is portrayed by a CGI chimpanzee. He just is. And someone had the bright idea to release
*this* movie the same year as "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes."
Anyway, Better Man bombed at the box office. But the movie itself is
OK. Not great or anything, but it held my interest well enough. I
really didn't know anything about Robbie Williams other than he had one
song I liked, and that song wasn't even in the movie. The song itself
is pays homage to James Bond, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcWOviMI6Lk

Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+) - "The Hollow of His Hand" - Matt
Murdock wraps up a murder trial. I hope they get to the action soon.

Cobra Kai (Netflix) - "Peacetime in the Valley" and "The Prize" -
Season 6, episodes 1 and 2. The season 5 finale aired in 2022, so of
course season 6 picks up without even a recap. It's not like people are
going to forget what last happened in a show they haven't watched in 3
years or anything. Season 6 resumes with Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen
(the villain of Karate Kid 2) all working together now. Terry Silver
(the villain of Karate Kid 3) was defeated at the end of season 5 and is
now gone. John Kreese faked his death to escape prison at the end of
season 5, and now he is out on the street to cause trouble. In episode
2 there was a really good flashback of young Kreese in Korea learning
Karate from an evil sensei, and when the flash forward it turns out the
evil sensei is now ancient but still alive, and just as evil. He of
course teams up with Kreese and they are of course still out for revenge.

Watson - "The Man With The Glowing Chest" - They ran out of "House"
scripts and had to tell an original story. This one has Watson teaming
up with The Man With the Glowing Chest to save the day.

The Equalizer - "Guns and Roses" - Season 5, Episode 8, from a few weeks
ago. This one has Team McCall chasing after a gun runner (I think)
after a girl gets shot. I'm not sure I caught the connection between
girl getting shot by a stray bullet to international criminal.

Black Bag (theatrical) New spy movie written by David Koepp, and
directed by Steven Soderbergh. Michael Fassbender stars as a man who
works for a British spy agency who at the start of the movie is tasked
with figuring out who among 5 people, who also work at the agency, is a traitor. One of the 5 people is his wife (Cate Blanchett). His wife
being one of the suspects does not deter him from taking the assignment.
Based on the trailer I had almost no interest in this movie, but I
went to see it anyway because it was directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Turns out that was the correct decision. This movie is a lot better
than the trailer. And better than my description. I left out a lot of
details to avoid spoilers. But this is one of those spy movies full of
smart characters that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Now that I have access to the plasma and my cloud drive again I’ve been thinking it’s time for that.

Yeah. Obvious is asking me questions about what’s happening and I have to keep telling him. I don’t have any idea. He says the daredevil killed one
of the cops, but then the cop was testifying later, but I don’t think we
see daredevil do anything except in flashback do we?

Watson - "The Man With The Glowing Chest" - They ran out of "House"

During my TRACKER catch up I saw a big hunks of these because apparently
CBS keeps not showing the beginning of tracker and then padding out it’s timeslot with both of these shows. Of course I don’t get to see the whole episode of either of these so they don’t call me that much. But Lisa on equalizer makes me remember how much I miss don’t trust the bitch

On The Agency, Fassbender is a CIA agent who may or may not be a double

    What did you watch?

The last few episodes of Severance, Season 1.

I had heard of this show but never looked at it. Last week I saw a
couple of videos by people very knowledgeable about music who were
really excited about the music of Severance - specifically the theme -
so I looked it up in IMDB and was surprised to find it had an 8.7
rating, making it VERY highly regarded. I decided to take a look at it
to see if it lived up to the hype in the reviews on IMDB.

Frankly, my main emotion watching it was frustration at the glacial pace
of the story. But the reviews I read insisted it got better and the
season finale was amazing so I decided that maybe I should stay to the
end of Season 1. After all, I couldn't quite see the reason for all the
hype about The Wire (season 1) when I first watched it either but then, somewhere around the middle of the 13 episodes in season 1, it suddenly
became so compelling that it was the first time I ever binged anything.
(I'd bought it on DVD so I didn't have to wait.) It became my all-time favourite drama.

I have to say that Severance didn't turn out to be nearly as compelling
for me. Having watched the season finale, I'm still scratching my head
as I try to understand all the enthusiasm in the reviews.

I feel that they didn't reveal enough of what Lumon was actually doing
and why. Clearly, the characters had their own "burn it all down" moment
and actually executed that but it's not remotely clear if Lumon will
even be hurt by what they did, let alone be destroyed. They're obviously
very powerful and have several operatives so it wouldn't be hard to
picture them dealing with the main characters' rebellion with a bit of
PR (and maybe killing one of them as an example to the others). I expect
that is the writers trying to keep it mysterious and get people to come
back for subsequent seasons to try to eventually figure out what is
going on. It really reminds me of Lost in that regard although I will
give the Severance writers the (provisional) generous assumption that
they actually know where this story will end and that it will make sense.

I haven't yet decided if I'll even look at Season 2 - which I know is
almost finished airing - or if I'll do what I finally did with Lost and
bail out well before the end because of all the nonsense on that series.

I suspect I'd get more enjoyment from re-watching The Wire....
