• Engraving THE SWARM

I got assigned to engrave the cue "The Bees Attack" from THE SWARM-- one of my top candidates in all of cinema history for the award of "Worst Movie to Have
a Fantastic Musical Score". JAWS 2 and SPACE CAMP being close in the running.

The filmmakers had no idea how damn fortunate they were to have such a beautiful score composed for such a cheeseball film.

While setting up my orchestra template, I realized that Goldsmith's central motif for the swarm itself starts like this:

Note the triplet figure in beat one... the notes are B-E-E!

    Nice one, Jerry. Well done.

If the cue had been called "The Wasps Attack" or "The Hornets Attack"
his triplet figure wouldn't have been so perfect. Serendipity!
