FANTASTIC FOUR TEASER TRAILER REVIEW | ARE FF FANS GETTING SHAFTED AGAIN?: Marvel has released their new teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four, and I guess the central question here is: are Fantastic Four fans going to get screwed again? Are the Fantastic Four going to get short changed in a lousy movie adaptation once more? I think we have an answer my friends - here is

WHAT ACTUAL ALIENS MIGHT LOOK LIKE
Humans assume aliens look human. But why would they?
Let's explore what life might actually look like in strange, distant worlds.

    VANDERPUMP RULES:
"Notes on a Scandal". In the season 11 premiere, Ariana puts on a brave face and attempts to rebuild her life after Tom's infidelity, despite sharing a house with her ex-boyfriend. Tom Schwartz tries to make peace with his
friends, but discovers he's still excommunicated from the group. James
settles into his new life of domestic bliss with Ally. Scheana opens up about her postpartum OCD diagnosis. Lala confides in Lisa Vanderpump about her regrettable treatment of a one-time nemesis, making a grand gesture that threatens to rock the boat with her friends.

TBH, I watched this last week and pretty much immediately forgot what
happened. I was bored and had no interest in them beating the dead horse
    called "Scandoval".

    VANDERPUMP RULES:
"The Ultimate Betrayal". Tom Sandoval returns to Los Angeles just in time for his birthday, however, his plans hit a snag when Ariana learns he wants to throw a party in their shared home.

Ariana and Sandoval need to grow up. Their living situation in the house reminds me of something from an old sitcom including recruiting someone to
pass messages between them. Speaking of which, is Ann profoundly stupid? For that matter, why the hell does he even need a personal assistant in the first place? Naturally, Arianna is going to be petty and refuse to allow him to
have a birthday party, even though it turns out she wasn't even going to
there! Oh, look! It's Billie the Thirsty Famewhore trying to horn in on every scene at the party! [eyeroll] Meanwhile, successful businesswoman Lisa Vanderbucks celebrates(?) the closing of Pump. On the other side of the
hills, DJ Muppet Baby considers dropping by Sandoval's party. What could possibly go wrong?

    Completely different things than Ubi.

    I watched:

    NIGHT COURT S3E08

A new city initiative has users of the court system rate their
experience as positive, neutral or negative. A feisty client causes Dan
to get a whole lot of negative reviews and Dan gets singled out for some blatantly ageist treatment by the guy monitoring the program. Hilarity
ensues as they deal with him and clear Dan.

    THE ROOKIE S7E05

Much of the plot centers on tracking down Bailey's whacko ex-husband.
She is sufficiently scared that she enlists help from El Movado without
telling her current husband. Jenna Dewan goes seriously badass when
Jason knocks her over with a car, then ties her hands with a cable tie
and takes off with her in his car.

    WILL TRENT S3E05

Will's partner Faith gets an unexpected visit from her mother who needs
a supervised place to recover from a leg injury. While there, Mom sees something suspicious going on in a neighbour's window and calls 911
after previously being dressed down for an inappropriate call for help
from Faith. When Faith hears about the 911 call, she rushes home only to
find her mother missing. Faith, Will, and Amanda, with some help from
Angie, start trying to solve the mystery of where Mom is.

    PARADISE S1E04

This show keeps getting more and more intriguing. In this episode, we
learn much more about Billy Pace, Xavier's fellow Presidential bodyguard
and close friend, and Billy's dark past. We also learn that Billy is a
hatchet man for Sinatra and has been outside of the mountain and has
seen that life is possible, if difficult, out there.

Since no radiation precautions were seen in those scenes, I'm beginning
to think that we can rule out a nuclear war as the cause of the
catastrophe. I think the isotopes used in most nukes tend to be very
long lasting ones - think thousands of years of toxicity - so those
would not be safe after just six months. I have yet to hear a single
word of dialog that says whether the scope of the catastrophe was just
the USA or the entire world. I find myself wondering if other countries
are carrying on pretty much unchanged. That might explain why the US,
knowing this catastrophe was coming, didn't make any effort to rescue
top people from foreign countries who might be useful in rebuilding civilization, if that is indeed what Paradise is designed to do.

    I watched:

Babylon 5 (blu-ray) - Still making my way through season 4. "Epiphanies" Garilbadi quits. Meanwhile Bester shows up asking for help. The whole relationship between B5, Earth, and Psychor/Bester is really murky,
especially given B5 left Earth. I guess best not to think about such
    things.

"The Illusion of Truth" - I mostly fast forwarded through this one,
stopping to watch the ISN news propaganda parts. But those propaganda
parts were about half the episode. I was expecting a brief segment at
the end and got wrapped up into watching it. According to this episode
the lunar colony foundation was laid in 2018. I had no idea we already
had a colony on the moon.

"Atonement" - This episode fills in Delen's backstory and involvement in
the Earth Minbari war. It's a little weird watching this episode now
this far into the series after already seeing the backstory play out in
the TV movie. This episode isn't even on my watch list and was easily skippable, but I've pretty much thrown out the watch list at this point
and I'm just watching them. I'll have to try harder to skip the
    skippable ones.

"Racing Mars" - Franklin and Marcus smuggle themselves to Mars and learn
thanks to the news embargo no one knows there was a Shadow war.
Meanwhile Garabaldi has a falling out with Sheradan. Speaking of
Sheradan, he goes through some, let's say interesting, courting rituals
with Delenn. They mentioned Garibaldi's hair falling out. I've been
keeping an eye out for that and was surprised it lasted so long, then
when it finally happened, I didn't notice. Technically, he still has
    some hair on his head.

"Lines of Communication" Delenn confronts the Drakh who are shaping up
to be the latest big bad.

"Conflicts of Interest" - Sheridan builds up his resistance forces and establishes a counter propaganda network.

"Rumors, Bargains and Lies" - By this point I was half asleep and just
barely paying attention. But when my eyes were open, I saw Delenn
dealing with a civil war back home.

Or maybe I'll finally get around to watching the last two
    seasons of Breaking Bad. :/

Finally? You mean, you haven't seen them? Wow!

Yeah, I've watched the first three seasons, but never
got around to watching the last one. The DVD sets split
the last season into two sets, so I always think of it
as being two seasons to go.

At least you've got something good to look forward to
    anyway.

Yep, unless something else comes up to get my attention
    during the NHL Dark Nights.

Add "Better Call Saul" to your plans for when you finish "Breaking Bad."

I'm really enjoying these summaries, Arthur. They're
pushing me in the direction of breaking out my set of
B5 DVDs and actually getting around to (finally)
    watching them. :)

Nobody should need an excuse to watch some Babylon 5!

I bought a bundle of all five seasons plus the set of
movies ages ago and they're still on the shelf awaiting
    my attention.

I had a movie and some of the episodes on VHS that I
watched, but it's been so long ago it will be like
watching a "new" show when I finally break open the
    shrink wrap on the DVDs.

I have so many TV shows collecting dust still in the
    shrinkwrap. I
finally forced myself to put a few of them on the watch
schedule. But I still have lots of shows that I *need* to
    find time to watch.

With the NHL going dark for two weeks for this silly
exhibition tournament (The Four Nations). I'll be
needing something to fill in the dark nights, so B5
    might just be it.

I find that 'tournament' interesting... much better than
the usual ASG fare anyway. I think it could be fun.

Although scheduling it mid-season probably wasn't the
    best idea...

I started ignoring the All Star Game when they changed
the format to 3-on-3 instead of playing a real game. :P

    AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!

At one time, I had this on my wishlist, but with the number
of sets that are already languishing on my shelves, I scratched
    those off.

    I *will* be strong!!

Meanwhile, I checked the BB sets, and I was mistaken. It's
the fifth season that was split into two sets. I've decided
if I can squeeze in something during the NHL Dark Nights,
it will be BB Season 4, which I *think* may be managable.
I've got too many on-going projects that need to be worked
on right now to fit in anything longer.

BAD that I didn't like. I certainly wasn't going to watch a whole show about him.

I wasn't a fan of his Breaking Bad character either. His character is
not written as a hero of the show. He is a *deeply* flawed individual,
and if anything I'd say he's clearly the villain of the series. The
only thing that keeps him from being the most vile character on the
show, is he's surrounded by drug dealers and murderers. And even then,
his character is pretty evil in ways that you never saw in Breaking Bad.
Keep in mind when you saw him in Breaking Bad he was *already* in with
the murderers and drug dealers. This is how he got there.

If it helps, the series is only about 50%-60% his character. The rest
is the backstory on Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and other Breaking
Bad characters like Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks). It's worth
watching for the Gus backstory even if you don't like Saul. And even if
you're thinking you don't want to watch if it's 50-60% Saul, that 50-60%
is split between his supporting characters which includes Michael McKean
as his brother. I won't spoil the relationship, but it's some good
stuff. So even if you don't like Saul, McKean's Emmy nominated
    performance is worth watching.

    (Spoiler scene showcasing McKean)
