Friday's episode showed Gail and Eileen standing at a bench to the
memory of someone called "Martyn" and from context it was clear that he
was supposed to be a victim of the Manchester Arena bombing. Has it been >mentioned before that a local was involved? Or is Martyn a real person, >possibly linked to a cast member or one of the production team, and this
is the show's way of paying tribute?

Seems he was stood very close to the bomber, never stood a chance.

You might have noticed the bench in the gardens, but not seen the plaque, that >needs a close-up.

I thought it was a plaque for Seb. You're right, couldn't read it,
just assumed.

Back when I did the set tour in December 2018, the gardens was
blocked off and the tour guide said something about a memorial
being there, but I didn't clearly hear anything further.
Now I see that this has been there since at least then (the set
was decorated for Valentine's Day 2019 when I was visiting, given
that they typically shoot six weeks in advance plus the Christmas
break.
By the way, I'm taking my wife to the tour this coming Sunday! ;-)
Here's the photos/writeup from 2017 that I will update sometime
soon:

Happy to hear you enjoyed it! It must be because I didn't include
any of the selfies I took. ;-)
