Party.

In terms of whether we have a 'left' or 'right' Government, the key is
always going to be whether National or Labour secure the most party
votes.

This means that if National wish to lead the next Government then the
Coalition needs to take stronger actions than they have taken to date,
and they need to do it ASAP to get the benefits rolling in prior to
the 2026 election. If they fail to do this then we will have a
Government that will be even worse than the last Labour Government.

National criticises the profligate spending of the previous Labour
government, but the Coalition government has not reduced spending -
simply changed what it is spent on. Government debt is still
increasing at an alarming rate. There is no positive trend in sight
for an improving economy because the public service is just as bloated
as ever and the economy is even more dominated by Government spending
than when the current Government took office.

Yes, the National, Act and NZF need to become "allies" to offer a united
front. Do the work needed (negotation) to become the "party" of choice.

Then it needs to be done with this woke attitude so that there is a gap in
the options at the ballat box. What is happening now is National is doing
just enough to appear to be different to the woke thoughts but at the same
time just being passive about it. Result is that the voters vote for the
same.

Giving the country a hung Parliament is not the best as it will divide the country, and allow the country to possibility decay into chaos.

What is needed is is for some real ongoing debate about where NZ wishes to
go. Then we can elect the MPs which will carry this out for us.

We are at the cross roads of a generation, same as Sir Robert Muldoon faced
in the 80's. There is indeed alot to unpack.

do that...

Maybe it was the bit a few years ago when I opposed National's plans
to reduce income tax on the basis this should be delayed until we had
brought Government debt back to pre-Covid (preferably pre-Labour)
levels.

You won't be fully woken up until you realise that income tax
reductions are unconditionally good, and that government spending must
be reduced to accomodate that, i.e., that the welfare state in its
current form is unsustainable and must be harshly curtailed.

We must see clearly that the experiment with fiat-based monetary
systems has failed. Government overspending and accompanying
inflation are inevitable -- you can't stop those bastards. The old
gold-based systems worked, as long as the coinage was not debased.
Gold-and Silver based currency is the best we've had over the
millennia. Anything else is just another social experiment, with the
public as the victims.
