  • Another "biscuit tin" bill

    Steve Abel, MP has a Private members bill which proposes that any food
    imported will have been produced under conditions same as if it had been
    made in NZ.

    Hen welfare for eggs is an example. There is a loophole which needs fixing, other wise why did NZ ban eggs from caged hens a couple of years ago?

    Steve Abel has shown that there is a small inkling that the Green party
    might get back to its roots.

    minor issues like this.

    Not much chance he will get any leverage from the Green party - they are not interested in the welfare of the planet.

    Another idiotic "greeny" policy that hasn't been thought through properly.

    You can not force other countries to abide by your country's laws. All
    such a ridiculous policy will do is either cause manufacturers to stop bothering to sell products here OR raise the prices to cover the
    expenses at having to do separate manufacturing runs for each country's different laws (e.g. buying more expensive ingredients). :-\
