    Winston is somewhat erratic these days, but he is showing that
    experience counts - at his best he is more effective than any other
    Minister - at his worst he is destructive, but on this issue he is the
    first good appointment that Luxon has made since he was made leader of
    the National Party. They clearly desperately need a competent Finance
    Minister, but sadly there is no National Party MP who is likely to do
    it well, but most would do it better than the current muppet . . .

    Yes rnz on this occasion did lie. I didn't.
    $3B was the anticipated cost of the original incompetent decision by the last government. The deciaion by this one prevented that cost. Simple maths old boy. The cost of the new initiative is yet to be published (reference W Peters) but expected to be much less than $3B.
