The REA should not have that right, it should be unlawful for them to be able to do this. Maybe the new law will fix it, let's hope.

Why do you think it should be unlawful, Tony?

Surely the rights of a group to set conditions on membership of their
group is up to them, provided it is within the law, and nobody has
suggested that the requirement is against the law. You seem to have
the idea that any opinion of Christopher Luxon should be regarded as
law - while that may be a view held by Trump I doubt that Luxon thinks
it applies to him. So much for your supporting the idea of "Freedom" -
to you Freedom appears to mean supporting anything Luxon says . . .
that is not a law of New Zealand, Tony, and I suspect never will be.
Certainly it is not what most people see as "Freedom"!

Do you need reading glasses? Read the article and the several associated ones that are available to those that "will" see.

So you cannot answer my question - just as you have not identified
what represented "A digraceful decision" - perhaps your decision to
    post was "digraceful" . . .

Correct. But the REA is the sole authority for granting licenses to
real estate agents in NZ. You cannot be a real estate agent without
getting a licence from the REA. The issue is that the REA has abused
its statutory reach by including mandatory subjects of no significance
    to the industry.

In this case the 'Maori tikunga' course may still be offered but
    should not be mandatory.

the idea that any opinion of Christopher Luxon should be regarded as
law - while that may be a view held by Trump I doubt that Luxon thinks
it applies to him. So much for your supporting the idea of "Freedom" -

    Political rhetoric again.
