From Gordon@21:1/5 to All on Mon Feb 3 04:02:31 2025
This is from the Geoff buys cars channel on you-tube. He has left the UK for some months as he see the UK sliding inti choas.

    Geoff was in a taxi

"Sri Lanka um basically I was trying to
explain when when we were talking about
what's going on in the world was trying
to explain the concept of Net Zero to
him and it was hilarious because in the
UK Net Zero it is it's all it's like
part of the national lexicon you know
it's a term that we understand we know
what people mean when they talk about
Net Zero um it's part of conversation
it's being discussed all right so the
term Net Zero we know what it means try
and go abroad right to a poorer country
and try and explain the concept of Net
Zero to say a taxi driver whilst you're
driving along on a two-lane Highway
that's actually got six Lanes or seven
depending on what the buses and Tuk
tucks are all doing uh and who you know
are aware as to how the economy and how
money works just try and explain Net
Zero to normal people in other countries
and the guy was sat there being like
you're doing what you're destroying your
    manufacturing Industries in your economy
so that you can get less CO2 in the air
and I was sat there in the passenger
seat being like yeah yeah when you put
    it that way..."

This thought/point od view is interesting as it shows how out of touch, or ineffective the Net Zero folks is on a world wide basis. A whole country off the bat not knowing what net Zero is.

It is a stupid, unatainable and completely unnecessary target. Nobody with any credibility has ever demonstrated that it is a worthwhile thing to aim for. Nobody!
It is politics and greed driven.
