Our government is so fixated on rules that they cannot see the Wood
for the Trees . . .
Just think of the money spent on sudsidies for Net Zero etc. Or this is one >of the results of Net Zero policies.
Net Zero policies make the country less wealthy and thus the poor people.
Its not clear how the two different policy areas relate, Gordon. We do
have fuel charges that are supposed to accrue money to discourage
excessive use and pay for charges under international agreements, but
other charges such as road user charges may not adequately allow for
both emissions and physical damage to roads - we do not use weight and
measured emissions for all vehicles. However I am not aware of any
payments under climate change treaties, and wealthy people seem to be
doing very much better than poor people - which may be a better
explanation of the growing homelessness problem. Effective wealth of
the country can be measured by GDP per capita, and it is true that
under current government policies with more unemployed we are seeing a
fall in that measure, but that is getting away from the issue of
homelessness.
