• Imagine this - NZ Green hydrogen

    This is one of those articles I can not quite understand. The take that case
    of NZ using only Green hydrogen for its energy supply.

    "This comes as new research shows New Zealand could need up to three mega tons of hydrogen if it fully transitioned to the fuel source, translating to 125 terawatt hours (TWh) of extra power — three times New Zealand’s current electricity demand."

    Clearly that is very unlikely to happen. And why do we need to some or all
    of NZ electricty power to produce this hydrogen when the supply/demand for electricity is finely balanced. And of course the demand from EV is going to increase as we go green.

    I agree it does seem a bit confused - it refers to news that the
    Smelter was due to shut, but the link does not relate to that. It
    appears to be saying that this is a possible energy source - with
    practically everything related to it unclear.
