This is a real hoot. Shows the mentality of the Green's. It is going to be
so much better with the cycle way installed. Two years later they want off >street parking for themselves from the shop which has moved because of the >cycle way.

    Yes, they do exist.
There is no such thing as a green MP; there are MPs who are members of the Green Party but they are extreme left wing MPs pretending to be "green".

As I understand it she does have a reserved park, but it was being
used by the person that broke the so-called story.

The cycleway was installed by Wellington Council - yes it has a Green
mayor but I doubt the Greens have a majority on Council.

There are a lot of cycle ways around the country that are very much
appreciated by people living in their area, as well as motorists that
are able to enjoy roads that have less slow traffic.

These are local decisions however, and some do not always appreciate

    Completely off topic.
The Green Party influence in the subject decision is of course obvious. Even to
you if you would open your tiny mind to the truth for once.

How soon you forget the support given by John Key for cycling - not
just for the country based tourism tracks - a few of those have of
course become quite profitable and popular destinations for New
Zealanders as well, but also his less overt support for provision for
cycling routes for city and suburban commuters, particularly in
    Auckland.
    See: https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/100-million-urban-cycleways

Of course encouragement of cycling has reduced traffic in some areas
which does save money - a fairly recent development in Auckland was
cycleways along Meola Road, arranged through Auckland Transport. So
yes while there has been encouragement of cycling from Labour and the
Green Party, there was in the past significant support from within the
National Party. Now of course ACT is having a significant impact on
policies; they have been consistently against any money being spent on
walking or cycling, and shortage of funding due to the tax cuts to
landlords has influenced some current National people - see https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/504884/minister-pulls-brakes-on-cycling-and-walking-initiatives
where National is taking as much funding away from local government
projects as possible because of budget problems.

At a local level, this group has discussed recently the desire for
many local merchants to encourage slower traffic and cycling so that
people spend more time, and money, spending locally, and so that those
passing through have the time and opportunity to park and shop as
well. Better public transport is also being sought in some cities to
enable more people to spend time in the city centre - that is
particularly felt in Wellington which takes us back to the good work
done recently by the Wellington Council.
