  • I Wonder If Postcodes Are Still Useful ...

    Remember back when postcodes were introduced? The volume of mail was still increasing, seemingly with no end in sight.

    That was decades ago. And today it is declining. I wonder, are we back to
    the levels they were when postcodes first came in?

    In broad terms, letter mail is very much decreased, but parcels /
    courier delivery much increased - that is over the last say 20 years
    or so. I don't know when the old simpler codes were replaced with the
    more system friendly 4 digit post codes.

    Postcodes are still useful for delivery sorting systems

    This is indeed the case. Automatic sorting is ruling okay!
