That was decades ago. And today it is declining. I wonder, are we back to
the levels they were when postcodes first came in?
In broad terms, letter mail is very much decreased, but parcels /
courier delivery much increased - that is over the last say 20 years
or so. I don't know when the old simpler codes were replaced with the
more system friendly 4 digit post codes.
Postcodes are still useful for delivery sorting systems
