    Good, then the Government can get out of the way and let the market forces govern.

    Enough in that paper to a 66 plus year long argument.

    I note from one of the graphs which is repeated, that the average power
    usage is 27 kWh of which half of it is for the EV. AS EV's total
    consumpution is about 2% it means that we are going to need alot more power
    as the EV demand for power comes on line.

    The price of power will rise creating a living crisis for the poor while the rich will be able to moan about the price rises.


    Our charges for using roads are not yet fair - we do not charge more
    for passenger vehicles that are heavier, and do not charge enough for
    heavy trucks and buses, and that includes some electric vehicles. That
    can easily be done through variable Road User Charges - we are
    generally believed to be undercharging the very heaviest vehicles; the previous current government have both missed that issue - the previous government had no real excuse but the current government is determined
    to continue subsidies to political donors - and that means rail gets

    ACT pretend they want to get people paying the correct charges for

    Trains are a fantastic idea if the only alternative transport is a
    horse drawn carriage, but in the modern world they are a 19th century
    solution to a 21st century problem. The only thing trains are good for
    now is hauling bulk raw materials over long distances. Passenger and
    commuter trains are an economic black hole that just sucks in money,
    and I've never understood why politicians are so obsessed with them.
