National finishing Labour's mess.
It appears to be a casualty of Covid, but it should have been built
directly by government anyway, not through a private company with it
appears limited cash reserves, but good legal advice.
It is similar in some ways to the debacle of Charter Schools which
Labour inherited - the government had provided money for charter
schools to buy land and have buildings erected, but when the schools
folded these assets did not belong to the government. Will the new
government make the same mistakes again?
A better response would be for government to have some building
capacity - as is often said the Ministry of Works should be brought
back for a range of problems . . .
