Same with banks - you try to do anything slightly complicated and you
get "Sorry, you'll have to go into a branch to do that", but we've
stupidly been closing them, so it'll take three times as long!
Even when you do go into the store wishing to purchase a new phone they push the offers and anything else but offering you a phone which would be
a suitable replacement.
The banks (when you can actually find a branch that hasn't been closed
down!!) do that too - keep trying to push you into new accounts,
insurance, etc.
Part of it is often the stupidity of paying salesman with a commission.
That just makes them greedy and what the customer wants is irrelevant. Commissions and bonuses should be illegal - just pay a normal hourly
wage.
