Hi all,
Following the recent discussions here, I've been working these last days
on making a video to explain how to set up a new NNTP peer with INN.
This walkthrough features a common setup using innfeed, with:
- an overview of NNTP peering architecture with InterNetNews;
- the most useful parameters of incoming.conf, newsfeeds and innfeed.conf;
- concrete examples of configuration;
- a live demonstration on my own news server;
- basic checks to ensure the configuration works.
Here is the link:

I hope it will be useful for those who discover INN.
30 years after its release, let's now experiment video tutorials :-)
Please tell your remarks about the format, if it is really
understandable (I am not a native English speaker), if you had expected something else, what should be improved, etc.
This subject is a tough one to explain, with a lot of things to say.
Other walkthroughs should normally be shorter!
I have in mind the topics you mentioned in recent discussions (like the
storage method to choose, setting TLS in nnrpd, the global architecture
of INN...) and also videos about terminology (injecting agent, header
field body, accepted/refused/rejected, moderation, etc.) and more
technical live examples of all NNTP commands with their response codes.
Yeah, an ambitious program... Let's see how far I'll get!
Thanks for your feedback on that first video!
