• Is it ironic...

That I see more spam in this group than any others? I would have
thought "Buy Weed and CDB edibles" would have easily been blocked by
    cleanfeed?

Maybe it's spammers giving admins the middle finger? But given that
they're using Google Groups they probably don't understand what the
    group is about anyway.

I've killfiled all GG posts in news.*, which gets rid of it.
But other areas do get some GG posts that are worth reading, so
it's not so easy with them.

On my server I have disabled cleanfeed local cancels: it only generates optional hiding for my users, using a specific proxy (web demo https://nnrp.alphanet.ch/config).

However, it seems those spams were not, indeed, caught by my version of cleanfeed, but they were with my spamassassin, look for the "spam" type
    of NoCeM in news.lists.filters.

Hmmm!? Perhaps you should ask News.Individual.Net how they filter.

I don't have the example you mention and the most recent 'spam' I have
is the alphnumeric gibberish flood of a little over a month ago.

In my local server (Hamster), I filter 'The Doctor' and 'XanaNews
Statistic for ...', but that's all. So on NIN, this group is quite
    clean.

I acknowledge that there are some legit GG posts elsewhere but I'm still
very close to just canning the entire thing at the server level.
